THEORETICAL BACKGROUND

Trends that stand out in Japan

One trend that stands out now in Japan is the fashionistas. Young people competing for wearing famous brands or unusual combinations of style of dress, makeup and hair.
Another trend is to try to be very extravagant, with original or branded clothing in order to draw attention

The meaning of the Japanese youth fashion while often said that Japanese society is homogeneous in all respects and that is not well seen to be different and stand out fromothers, contradicts this bizarre fashion statement. Japanese youth are fighting against homogeneity is imposed in schools and in the office as they leave class; dress like they really like and to rule the crowd.
